Australia's Anglican Church elects new Archbishop

The Anglican Church of Australia has elected their first woman to the role of Archbishop. The Right Reverend Kay Goldsworthy AO, Bishop of Gippsland is to become the new Archbishop of Perth.

On Saturday 10 February 2018, Archbishop Goldsworthy will be installed as the eighth Archbishop of Perth and Metropolitan of the Province of Western Australia.

Bishop Goldsworthy also made history in 2008 when she was appointed the first female Anglican Bishop in Australia and was one of the first women ordained to priesthood in 1992.

Prayer for the Next Archbishop of Perth

We continue to hold the Anglican Church of Australia in our prayers as they begin their 17th session of the General Synod, from 3-8 September.
