How We Work

The NCCA gathers together Churches and Christian communities which confess the Lord Jesus Christ as God and Saviour according to the Scriptures. We commit to deepen our relationship with each other and to work together towards the fulfilment of common witness, proclamation and service, to the glory of the one God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Statement on the terror attack at Bondi Beach

The National Council of Churches in Australia (NCCA) are shocked and overwhelmed by the murderous events that happened at Bondi Beach last night on the first day of the Jewish festival of Hanukkah.

A terrible darkness descended on the festival of light and hope.

Greetings from the NCCA

And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.” Luke 2:10

2025 Christmas Messages from Leaders of Christian Churches in Australia

There are competing narratives that call for our attention. Some are political, others negative, frightening and discouraging….

The Christmas narrative is strong, contrasting and builds hope and life for all. Its message remains strong and clear.

WCC Christmas message 2025

“Holy Family, Holy Faith”

Glory to God in the highest,
And peace to all people on earth.

We share the Christmas Message 2025 from the World Council of Churches

Reflection from the President

For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience. (Romans 8:24-25)

Looking forward to, and planning a, celebration creates anticipation.
