Safe Church Program

Webinar

The St James’ Institute is presenting a webinar titled Creating Safe Spaces in Churches: responding to Domestic Violence in Faith Communities

According to recent research in Australia, domestic violence is as prevalent in church communities as in the wider community, and many ministers feel underequipped to deal with this situation.

In this webinar, a panel of experts working with domestic violence survivors and churches will seek to answer the questions:

  • How do we understand what domestic violence looks like in our church communities?
  • How do we speak with the victims and their alleged perpetrators?
  • How do we work towards creating safe spaces in our communities free from domestic violence?
  • How do we talk about this in our communities?

When: Thursday 31 March, 11:00 am-12:30 pm

Register: online at the sjks website

Cost: $15

For non-St James’ Institute Subscribers, you may purchase a ticket here to attend and you will be contacted closer to the date with information on how to access the webinar
