International Day of People with Disabilities 2023

3 December 2023

Towards equity for people with disabilities

All too often, people with disabilities are being left behind. People with disabilities are the experts in their lives and it’s essential they play a leadership role. It’s time to move beyond inclusion towards full and meaningful participation for people with disabilities, towards equity.

CBM Australia are calling on your help to amplify the voices and priorities of people with disabilities.

As part of our International Day of People with Disabilities (IDPD) 2023 campaign, they are launching a five-week initiative with an umbrella theme echoing the calls of the Disability Rights Movement, ‘towards equity for people with disabilities.’

The campaign was launched on 30 October and will conclude on IDPD on 3 December.

CBM Australia is exploring four key areas to better understand the needs and priorities of people with disabilities: equity, accessibility, gender, and climate change.

Each week, they will amplify the voices of people with disabilities through person-led video and storytelling, and other resources including case studies and reports.
