Bethel Mar Thoma Church Sydney celebrates its Silver Jubilee

A member of National Council of Churches in Australia and the NSW Ecumenical Council, The Sydney Mar Thoma Church celebrates 25 years  on November 5, 2016 at the Parkside Baptist Church, 717 Smithfield Road, Edensor Park, NSW, Sydney at 4pm. All are cordially welcome to this occasion.
The Bethel Mar Thoma Church, Sydney, is a parish in the diocese of Malaysia, Singapore and Australia. The Diocesan Bishop is Rt. Rev. Joseph Mar Barnabas.

The church motto is 'Lighted to Lighten'.  Its primary mission is to uphold, nurture and share in the timeless traditions of the 'Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church', conduct all holy sacraments in the Mar Thoma faith, engage in Christian mission activities including charity work and seek the endowment of individuals with spiritual and divine gifts. The Church also promotes ecumenism in the Australian society and is a source of spiritual inspiration, growth and comfort to all people. The objective is to pass on a consistent flow of invaluable Christian faith, principles, heritage and values to the children and society for the continuation of Christian work.

From young children to senior parishioners, there are activities that have helped all the members to maintain an active Parish life under the leadership and spiritual guidance of parish priests and Bishops. Many prayer and bible study groups exist within the church to encourage and nurture the spiritual needs of their members, and the church has a dynamic choir, Sunday School and youth fellowship.

At the silver jubilee celebration on Saturday 5 November the supreme head of the Mar Thoma church, His Grace The Most Rev. Dr. Joseph Mar Thoma Metropolitan will inaugurate the one year jubilee celebrations. Bishops and the head of the churches along with political leaders will also bless the ceremony by their valuable presence.
