Voice messaging workshop

Voice to Parliament referendum messaging workshop for church leaders and communicators:

To help achieve a compelling YES vote in the forthcoming referendum, church organisations need to effectively write and talk about the Voice to Parliament. 

To assist with this, The Very Rev’d Dr Peter Catt, Peter Branjerdporn and Michelle McDonald, are running a Zoom messaging/communications workshop for clergy and lay people engaged in written and verbal communications in leadership roles; parishes; church publications, social media and newsletters; church non-profits and agencies; church schools and universities; and, ministries. 

A combination of First Nation and non-Indigenous people from several denominations will facilitate the workshop, and The Rev'd Canon Glenn Loughrey will be acknowledging Country. 

The content will be tailored for a Christian audience and is designed for church leaders, advocates and comms professionals. The workshop will be followed by a Q and A.  

When: Friday 21 April 9.30am to 11.30am.

Who can attend: People from any church denomination or church-run agency are welcome   

About the workshop

To help achieve a compelling YES vote in the forthcoming referendum, church organisations need to know how to effectively write and talk about the Voice to Parliament. 

This workshop is for clergy and lay people engaged in written and verbal communications in leadership roles; parishes; church publications, social media and newsletters; church non-profits and agencies; church schools and universities; and, ministries. 

This workshop will explore a framework especially designed to assist church organisations with their written and verbal communications, including: 

  • opinion piece writing and blogging 
  • social media posts and responses 
  • media liaison 
  • campaigning and lobbying 
  • media release writing 
  • homily/sermon crafting 
  • presenting.
