Reflection from the President

Bp PHx150

Psalm 95

”Come let us prostrate ourselves and bow;
let us kneel before the Lord our Maker”.

Juxtaposing Lenten biblical texts with local and world affairs brings us to our knees.

A woman, spirit-led, passed onto me …

“The Church today needs to be down on its knees before the Lord”.

bph reflection3

Yes, in repentance. But also in deep trust in Jesus compassion for all: the risen Jesus eagerness to give all people grace and healing.

This text and image of a woman deep in prayer, pictured left, comes from an Exhibition on the Psalms at the Adelaide Festival.

Bishop Philip Huggins.

President, National Council of Churches in Australia
