Cultural Diversity Week - Victoria

 'Proud to Belong - Your Generation'.

The Week is held annually in March to coincide with the United Nations Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination and Harmony Day on 21 March. It brings together Victorians to promote community harmony and celebrate the richness of cultural diversity.

Three free events that celebrate intercultural-interfaith diversity, understanding, and harmony  are being celebrated in Darebin on Sunday, 17 March 2019. 

Event 1: Islamic Museum of Australia (IMA)

Exhibitions and unique free tours. Children’s programs and a sausage sizzle in the car park (gold coin).

Event 2: Preston Mosque Open Day

Mosque and minaret tours, try-on-a-hijab, henna painting, jumping castle, Q&A's and discussions about the positive role Muslims play in Australian society, and sausage sizzle and samples of sweets from around the Muslim world.

Event 3: “Connect 2gether 4 Harmony" Cultural Diversity Fair

Hosted by AMAFHH, this festival will feature food, children’s’ activities and entertainment. Over 35 stalls/booths will showcase different cultures, faiths, food and service providers with the theme: No More Myths and Misconceptions - See Us for Real. It could be about your culture, organisation or faith.
