The Governor of Victoria, Her Excellency Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, along with church and community leaders and Government representatives will be present for this important ecumenical service.
‘Holding the Light’ remembers victims and survivors of family and domestic violence, and stands in solidarity with victims and survivors of domestic violence, and to remember those who have been killed as a result of domestic violence in Australia. The ecumenical service is open to all denominations and community members.
(A copy of the liturgy is available for churches and ecumenical networks who would like to hold a similar service during the 16 days of activism against gender-based violence, which takes place from 25 November (International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women) to 10 December (UN Human Rights Day).
