How We Work

The NCCA gathers together Churches and Christian communities which confess the Lord Jesus Christ as God and Saviour according to the Scriptures. We commit to deepen our relationship with each other and to work together towards the fulfilment of common witness, proclamation and service, to the glory of the one God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Australia has welcomed one million refugees over the last 75 years. That legacy is one of our greatest strengths. Yet today, the world is experiencing the highest levels of displacement ever recorded. Too many people seeking safety continue to face barriers, uncertainty, and prolonged waiting.

Join the NCCA, Australian Churches Refugee Taskforce and Common Grace campaign as we call to #EndTheWaiting

Together, we’re calling on the Australian Government to:

  • Maintain and expand Australia’s Refugee and Humanitarian Program to 27,000 places.
  • Make complementary pathways, including skilled refugee labour and refugee student pathways, a permanent addition to Australia’s humanitarian response.
  • Ensure people awaiting the outcome of protection applications can access work and Medicare, preserving dignity and enabling contribution to the community.
