How We Work

The NCCA gathers together Churches and Christian communities which confess the Lord Jesus Christ as God and Saviour according to the Scriptures. We commit to deepen our relationship with each other and to work together towards the fulfilment of common witness, proclamation and service, to the glory of the one God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Representatives from the NCCA and state and territory ecumenical bodies met recently in St John’s Anglican Diocesan Centre, Brisbane hosted by Queensland Churches Together. The group of ecumenical officers met to share, reflect and pray together on the hopes and struggles in working for Christian unity. The meeting was based on the peer support circle model. Ms Leigh Cleave, chair of Act for Peace and Mr John Snobar, advocacy director for Palestinian Christians in Australia updated the group on their work.

The participants were Mr Robbie Tulip and Mr Christian Nobleza (ACT Churches Council), Rev Dr Rod Benson (NSW Ecumenical Council), Bishop Greg Anderson (Northern Territory Council of Churches), Dr Kate Power (Queensland Churches Together), Rev Sandy Boyce (Victorian Council of Churches), Ms Liz Stone, Mr David Rose and Ms Noelene Osora (National Council of Churches).
