How We Work

The NCCA gathers together Churches and Christian communities which confess the Lord Jesus Christ as God and Saviour according to the Scriptures. We commit to deepen our relationship with each other and to work together towards the fulfilment of common witness, proclamation and service, to the glory of the one God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

All Australian churches are invited to take part in the eighth nationwide survey of churchgoers – the 2026 National Church Life Survey. The survey period will run from August to October 2026.

Especially during times such as these, it is more important than ever to listen well to our churchgoers. In only 20 minutes you can listen to all your church attenders in these changing times. And you will get a report to inform your decisions for the future.

Churches around Australia, as well as overseas, use the Church Life Survey to get a clear evaluation of their health and vitality.

The results will help you identify your strengths and provide processes to help you evaluate, make decisions and connect effectively with your community.

In late 2026, hundreds of thousands of voices will contribute to the most comprehensive view of church life in the world.  Churches in over 20 denominations will benefit from the NCLS this year, as an opportunity to listen and gain insights for future ministry.

The 5 yearly ‘National Church Life Survey’, is run by NCLS Research and has been held alongside the national Census every 5 years. Involving hundreds of thousands of churchgoers in thousands of churches each cycle, it is the largest longitudinal study of church life in the world.
