How We Work

The NCCA gathers together Churches and Christian communities which confess the Lord Jesus Christ as God and Saviour according to the Scriptures. We commit to deepen our relationship with each other and to work together towards the fulfilment of common witness, proclamation and service, to the glory of the one God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Refugee Sunday takes place during Refugee Week on 14 June 2026, and offers a moment for churches to pause, reflect, and respond together to the reality of global displacement.

More than 123 million people around the world have been forced from their homes due to conflict, disaster, and persecution. Refugee Sunday is an opportunity for your congregation to:

Learn about the experiences of displaced people and communities,

Pray for those seeking safety, and those rebuilding their lives,

Act in solidarity – through giving, speaking up, welcoming, and ongoing learning.

Grounded in the words of Jesus “I was a stranger and you welcomed me” (Matthew 25:35), Refugee Sunday connects faith with action, inviting churches to move beyond compassion and toward justice.

Act for Peace has created simple, flexible resources to support your church including a worship guide and a youth leaders guide so that your whole congregation can take part.

You can download:

  • A church guide – everything your church needs to mark the occasion on 14 June including prayers, scripture readings, a call to worship and a story of hope.
  • Youth leaders guide – to help youth leaders facilitate meaningful conversation about global displacement grounded in faith and scripture, with reflection questions.
  • Poster – print and display in your church to let you congregation know about Refugee Sunday and how they can get involved with Act for Peace.
  • Pew sheet notice – a ready-to-print one-page insert for your Sunday service, summarising the call to Learn, Pray and Act alongside refugees and displaced communities this Refugee Week.
  • Power point slides – a set of ready-made slides to display during your Sunday service, introducing Refugee Sunday on 14 June 2026 and sharing how Act for Peace is supporting displaced communities around the world. Simply drop them into your existing presentation.
  • Social media tiles – share these graphics on your church’s social media channels to spread the word about the Refugee Sunday 2026 campaign.

Every act, whether learning, praying, or responding, becomes part of a much bigger, connected story of hope.
