How We Work

The NCCA gathers together Churches and Christian communities which confess the Lord Jesus Christ as God and Saviour according to the Scriptures. We commit to deepen our relationship with each other and to work together towards the fulfilment of common witness, proclamation and service, to the glory of the one God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

A Call to Prayer and Reflection as Australia Votes

As our nation prepares to head to the polls this weekend, we take a moment to pause and prayerfully reflect.

We find ourselves at a crossroads that will not only shape our nation’s future, but also Australia’s role in the world. This is a moment that calls for deep reflection, prayer, and a commitment to the values of justice, mercy and love that Christ teaches us.

Living in a democratic nation like Australia is a remarkable privilege that also carries a significant responsibility. Beyond the political contest, elections are also about the kind of society we want to build.

We are hopeful for an outcome that promotes peace and the flourishing of all people. But we know that great hope also requires action. As you head to the polls this weekend, you can use your vote to back a politician who will speak up for humanKind.

Your vote is a powerful way to amplify the voices that further positive change in the world. For people who have been displaced and no longer have a safe place to belong.

As we vote, let’s be united in our pursuit of justice for all people. Let’s remember those who are often overlooked: the poor, the marginalised, the vulnerable. Our hope and prayer is that the great nation of Australia will be a force for good in the world – standing for compassion, generosity and peace.

If you want to find out how to make your vote count on the issues that are important to you, you can use ABC’s Vote Compass tool: Vote Compass Australia 2025 – Australia Votes – ABC News And if you want to join us in speaking up and advocating to increase Australian aid, you can contact your MP here by completing the simple email template on the Act for Peace website here.
