Discover Judaism and Islam through immersive encounters
Step through a unique portal of discovery for personal encounters with Jews and Muslims. This unique interfaith event offers a rare opportunity to look beyond the headlines and explore the lived reality, core beliefs, and beautiful traditions of Judaism and Islam by the people who profess them, our neighbours in multicultural multifaith community in Western Sydney and beyond.
Visual & Sensory Learning: This is not just a series of lectures. It is a multi-faceted immersive experience designed to foster connection and understanding. Experience the lived traditions through talks, show-and-tell, artefacts, engaging video clips, panel, and personal encounter with team members.
Two Expert Teams: Rabbi George Mordecai, Michelle Frankel, and their team from Emanuel Synagogue representing Judaism; and Osman Karolia from the Islamic College of Sport NSW and Asiya Rodrigo from Together for Humanity and their team representing Islam.
Direct Dialogue: Each 45-minute presentation is followed by a 15-minute Q&A session, giving you the chance to ask questions and engage directly with practitioners of the two faiths.

6.00 – Refreshments served, meet & greet, conversation
6.30 – Introductory Formalities
Participants divide into two groups
6.45 – Round 1 Presentations to the two groups
The two groups swap over
7.50 – Round 2 Presentations repeated for the swapped group
8.55 – Gathering for shared reflection, concluding remarks
