How We Work

The NCCA gathers together Churches and Christian communities which confess the Lord Jesus Christ as God and Saviour according to the Scriptures. We commit to deepen our relationship with each other and to work together towards the fulfilment of common witness, proclamation and service, to the glory of the one God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

The NCCA and Common Grace #EndTheWaiting campaign is calling on the Australian Government to:

  1. Maintain and expand Australia’s Refugee and Humanitarian Program

    In line with Australia’s pledge at the Global Refugee Forum, increase the program to 27,000 places and ensure Australia continues to play its part in responding to global displacement.

  2. Make complementary pathways permanent

    Expand opportunities for refugee students, skilled refugees, and community-sponsored entrants through pathways that are additional to Australia’s humanitarian intake, and establish these programs as a permanent feature of Australia’s response.

  3. Protect dignity while people wait

    Ensure people in Australia awaiting decisions on their protection claims have access to work rights and Medicare, preserving dignity and enabling meaningful contribution to the community.
