How We Work

The NCCA gathers together Churches and Christian communities which confess the Lord Jesus Christ as God and Saviour according to the Scriptures. We commit to deepen our relationship with each other and to work together towards the fulfilment of common witness, proclamation and service, to the glory of the one God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Two of the most respected Palestinian Christian thinkers of their generation, a theologian raised in Gaza and an Oxford-trained social scientist from Nazareth, will appear at seven events across five Australian cities this July and August, inviting churches and the wider public into a conversation about faith, justice and peacebuilding in the Holy Land.

The national tour, Bearing Witness: Palestinian Christian Voices, is presented by Palestinian Christians in Australia (PCiA) in partnership with churches and Christian institutions nationally, and is funded by the National Council of Churches Australia (NCCA). It runs from 28 July to 3 August 2026, with seven events across five cities: Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne and Perth. The tour takes as its guiding question: how can Christians support a just peace in the Holy Land?

Dr Yousef Khoury is a Palestinian Christian theologian raised in Gaza, where his family still lives. He serves as Academic Dean and Assistant Professor of Biblical Studies at Bethlehem Bible College, a Steering Committee member of Christ at the Checkpoint, and a board member of Kairos Palestine.

Dr Lamma Mansour is a Palestinian Christian writer, speaker and sociologist from Nazareth. Her work explores what it means to follow Christ in contexts marked by violence, and the political, emotional and gendered dimensions of Palestinian life. Oxford-trained, she is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
