How We Work

The NCCA gathers together Churches and Christian communities which confess the Lord Jesus Christ as God and Saviour according to the Scriptures. We commit to deepen our relationship with each other and to work together towards the fulfilment of common witness, proclamation and service, to the glory of the one God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

This year’s May Macleod Lecture will be hosted by UTC on Thursday 30 July 2026, 5:30pm – 8pm at the United Theological College in Sydney.

The lecture will be presented by Rev Dr Kuzipa Nalwamba, ‘From Memory to Healing: Engaging Justice, Reconciliation and Unity in a Wounded World’. Rev Dr Nalwamba is Programme Director for Unity, Mission and Ecumenical Formation, World Council of Churches.

This lecture offers a theological framework for engaging the interrelated challenges of memory, justice, reconciliation, and unity in a world marked by collective trauma, structural violence, and ecclesial division. Drawing on biblical concepts of anamnesismishpatdiakoniakatallagē, and koinonia, the presentation argues that healing requires more than the passage of time or superficial gestures of peace. It requires a deliberate spiral movement: from honest memory through restorative and structural justice, into costly reconciliation, and toward visible unity in mission.
