How We Work

The NCCA gathers together Churches and Christian communities which confess the Lord Jesus Christ as God and Saviour according to the Scriptures. We commit to deepen our relationship with each other and to work together towards the fulfilment of common witness, proclamation and service, to the glory of the one God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

SUDAN

Visit Us

Visit us, we are despairing.
Our faith is wavering, O Lord, come visit us.
The hardness of the world weighs heavily on us.
Sin keeps us away from your path.
We are forsaken, forsaken, forsaken.

A prayer for Sudan

Father God, we lift up Sudan and pray for stability in the region.
May those who covet power and those who seek to fight choose to walk the
path of peace.
Bring justice and healing to this divided land, we pray.
Out of this darkness, we pray that light will come.
We pray for a government that respects equality and religious freedom.
May Your church in this land reflect Your humility, forgiveness and love,
And so act as a signpost to the possibility of a different way of life.
Bring hope for those who feel helpless,
Healing for those who have been wounded,
And safety for all those who feel afraid.
Amen.

A prayer for the young people

God of unfailing power, you give vigour to the weary and fresh hope to the exhausted.
We pray for the young people of Sudan, South Sudan and Uganda,
whose educational opportunities are constantly disrupted by civil strife.
We pray for new strength, that they may sour as on eagle’s wings, run and not feel faith, march on and not grow weary.
Keep them safe and give them hope in your unfailing love, that they may grow to work and serve you in their community.
Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
