͏Demand Transparency from Cadbury’s Parent, Mondelēz
Take Action!
Mondelēz’s ongoing lack of transparency and commitment to clean up its cocoa sourcing is concerning. In the past three years, Mondelēz has participated only once in the Chocolate Scorecard – ranking 25th out of 38 large companies in the 5th Edition – leaving vital questions unanswered about their impact on child and forced labour.Come together to hold Mondelēz—the makers of Cadbury, Dairy Milk, Toblerone, Milka, Green&Black —accountable for its cocoa supply chain practices!
Context
60% of the world’s cocoa comes from Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana, where forced labour and child labour remains widespread. Without greater transparency, consumers cannot know if any progress is being made.
That’s why Be Slavery Free is a partner of Freedom United’s petition calling on Mondelēz, to take actionable steps to address the exploitation within their supply chains.

What We Demand from Mondelēz:
- Pay Living Income to Cocoa Farmers so they aren’t pushed to rely on child labour, suffer or perpetuate exploitation
- Prevent Child Labour and Trafficking across all cocoa-growing communities they source from by scaling child labour and monitoring and remediation systems
- Ensure Full Traceability of cocoa to farmers in the Cocoa Life Program
- End Deforestation and Report Progress by 2025
- Reduce Pesticide Use that is poisoning communities, especially in children in forced labour
- Chocolate should never come at the cost of exploitation.

Together, we can make a difference.
Thank you for your commitment to creating a just cocoa industry!
