How We Work

The NCCA gathers together Churches and Christian communities which confess the Lord Jesus Christ as God and Saviour according to the Scriptures. We commit to deepen our relationship with each other and to work together towards the fulfilment of common witness, proclamation and service, to the glory of the one God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Church Resources and Prayers

Alarmingly, in Australia, one in three women experience physical violence in their lifetime. One in six Australian women face physical or sexual violence, and one in four experience emotional abuse from an intimate partner.

Many of our member churches and Christian communities have made available their resources and prayers to share.

These can be found on the NCCA website, under the menu WHAT WE DO – Justice, Peace and Creation Care.

Please visit our website from time to time as prayers and resources are updated as new ones are identified during the year.

The available resources currently include:

  • Anglican Diocese of Melbourne – Preventing violence against women program
  • Anglicare – Renew: An Australian Guide for Christian Women Survivors of Domestic Abuse.’
  • Catholic Diocese of Broken Bay – A Catholic Response to Domestic Violence
  • Common Grace
    • Prayer for domestic and family violence survivors
    • SAFER Resource for your church
  • Queensland Churches Together – Domestic Family Violence Resources
  • The Salvation Army Australia – Family and Domestic Violence
  • Uniting Church in Australia Assembly – OUT OF THE SILENCE– Reflections on Gender Based Violence. Where you will find the full prayer below:

O God, helper of the afflicted,
hear our cries for all those
who are enduring violence in their homes.
Sustain them as they seek help and guidance….
