How We Work

The NCCA gathers together Churches and Christian communities which confess the Lord Jesus Christ as God and Saviour according to the Scriptures. We commit to deepen our relationship with each other and to work together towards the fulfilment of common witness, proclamation and service, to the glory of the one God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Sunday 3 August – Saturday 9 August 2025

It has been 80 years since the first use of nuclear weapons, when on the 6 August and 9 August 1945, atomic bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki and the world witnessed the horror of nuclear power. Each year in August we remember this as the dawn of the nuclear age.

Join ICAN Australia, the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear weapons, in their week of action.

ICAN Australia need your help to put the Nuclear Weapon Ban Treaty in front of our decision-makers and office-holders and demand they work for Australia’s ratification of the Treaty. Together we can turn our government’s approach around.

Join a Week of Action for Abolition from Sunday 3rd August – Saturday 9th August to demand urgent action to ensure these weapons are never used again.

Event planning

If you are planning an event, action, vigil, or any kind of commemorative activity, ICAN would love to hear from you! Please let them know your plans here.

ICAN Australia will collect events listings, and share with their supporters, promoting community events through their email and social media channels.

Thank you for your commitment to working for a world free of nuclear weapons.
