The Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel (EAPPI) seeks to support local and international efforts to end the Israeli occupation and bring a resolution to the Israeli-Paestinian conflict with a just peace, based on international law and relevant United Nations resolutions.

The EAPPI is a program of the World Council of Churches (WCC).  Following a visit to Palestine and Israel in 2001 the WCC held discussions and agreed to "develop an accompaniment programme that would include an international ecumenical presence".

Since 2002 volunteers have been trained in their country of origin and in Jerusalem to be placed as Ecumenical Accompaniers (EAs) in the Occupied Territories.  This is important work for which the local people and the international community are grateful.

In July 2007, at the 6th NCCA Forum it was resolved that
the National Forum commends the plans
for the NCCA to recruit and train
          participants in the Ecumenical Accompaniment
          Programme in Palestine-Israel (EAPPI).

The NCCA EAPPI Desk is developing assessment processes, training and support.  To this end we have been in discussion with WCC staff, EAPPI Coordinators from other countries, and EAs.
