World Day of Prayer is a worldwide ecumenical movement of women of many faith traditions. Millions of women around the globe will unite in prayer on Friday 6 March 2026, to mark the annual World Day of Prayer.
World Day of Prayer is a global movement of informed prayer and prayerful action. Prayer and action are what link Christians together around the world.
A different country each year shares their faith, cultures and traditions and brings their hopes, joys and needs to the world.
The worship service this year is written by the WDP committee in Nigeria. The worship service includes stories of faith shared by the women and girls of Nigeria.
This service calls all to come closer to God and find rest in God. When we totally trust and have faith in God, our burdens become light, and we find rest. The program was written by a group of ecumenical Christian Nigerian women in response to the theme, “I Will Give You Rest: Come” (Matthew 11:28-30). They reflected collectively on this theme from the context of their experiences as Nigerian Christian women. They hope to inspire other women in the world to unite and pray as one people. As we trust God, our Burden Bearer, we become one body in Christ, receiving and bringing rest to the world.
