How We Work

The NCCA gathers together Churches and Christian communities which confess the Lord Jesus Christ as God and Saviour according to the Scriptures. We commit to deepen our relationship with each other and to work together towards the fulfilment of common witness, proclamation and service, to the glory of the one God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

The Fire Still Burns: Hiroshima, Resistance and Disarmament

In August, the world will remember the bombing of Hiroshima 80 years ago — a moment that changed the world forever.

To honour the victims and survivors of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and reignite our shared call for a nuclear-free future, ICAN invite you to this special online event.

Speakers include:

  • Peter Garrett – Musician (frontman of Midnight Oil) , environmentalist, longstanding critic of nuclear weapons and the nuclear industry, and former federal cabinet minister (Minister for the Environment and Minister for Education).
  • Isao Morimoto – Second-generation Hibakusha and son of the late author/illustrator Junko Morimoto.
  • Gem Romuld – Director, ICAN Australia.
