How We Work

The NCCA gathers together Churches and Christian communities which confess the Lord Jesus Christ as God and Saviour according to the Scriptures. We commit to deepen our relationship with each other and to work together towards the fulfilment of common witness, proclamation and service, to the glory of the one God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

The launch of the Fossil Fuel Non Proliferation Treaty Campaign last Monday was attended by no fewer than 86 people. Michael Poland, the global campaign director for the Treaty initiative who spoke at the event said he was “seriously impressed” at the turnout. Everyone there came away with a clear plan to build momentum for the treaty in their respective faith communities. That’s a lot of organising power. Many thanks indeed to everyone who has been getting involved.

Here’s a quick reminder of the main things ARRCC is asking you to do.

Sing for a Fossil Fuel Treaty

One of the first things is singing together to bring attention to the need for a Treaty. ARRCC will be videoing each singing event and posting about it on social media with links to where people can go to show their support. Here are the events closest to you.

  • As a religious leader
  • As an everyday person of faith
  • As a religious institution

Spread the word

We need not only to sign up, but to ask others to do so. Can you get the word in your own congregation? Your diocese or synod? Across your whole faith community nationally? The aim is to get hundreds of thousands of signatures around the world.

Sign up here to spread the word.

You will get all the resources you need sent to you by email:

  • An email for you to send to people you know to ask them to sign up to support the Treaty.
  • A separate email you can send to faith leaders to ask them to get involved.
  • Copy for your place of worship’s newsletter or pew sheet.
  • An A4 poster with a QR code to the campaign page to put up at your place of worship.
  • A paper petition for you to print and ask people to sign up if this works better.
