How We Work

The NCCA gathers together Churches and Christian communities which confess the Lord Jesus Christ as God and Saviour according to the Scriptures. We commit to deepen our relationship with each other and to work together towards the fulfilment of common witness, proclamation and service, to the glory of the one God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

On Sunday, the 19th of April 2026, His Eminence, Antiochian Orthodox Metropolitan Basilios gathered with the youth of Victoria for a spiritual session on the Resurrection, a key message on how we know Christ the Resurrected through experiences. His Eminence highlighted how Christ continued to reveal Himself after His Resurrection through multiple appearances to the disciples in the period leading up to Ascension, strengthening their faith and deepening their understanding.

His Eminence emphasised that Christ is not known merely through physical sight, but through relationship, spiritual awareness, and participation in the life of the Church. The disciples came to recognise Christ through moments such as the breaking of bread, recalling both the feeding of the five thousand and the Last Supper. In this instance, pointing to the centrality of the Holy Eucharist as the primary means of abiding in Him.

His Eminence addressed the importance of discernment, warning against delusions, and instead encouraging a grounded understanding of Christ through Scripture, Church teachings, and personal prayer, which all assist in our experience to building a relationship with Christ. Through synergy with Christ, we are called to cultivate a sincere desire to know Christ, offering our time, prayer, and spiritual effort.

His Eminence reminded the youth that knowing Christ is an ongoing journey, one that requires commitment, humility, and an active relationship with Him, echoing the words: “Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
