How do we make 2020 a transformative and wonderful year for all God's creation?

Bishop Philip Huggins, NCCA President, calls on Australians to develop a strategy with the aim of reaching net zero carbon emissions by 2050. 

 “2020 is a very big year for all who want to be good stewards of God’s wonderful creation...."

Bishop Philip Huggins, together with Bishop Stephen Pickard, Executive Director of the Australian Centre for Christianity and Culture, invited Australia’s Ambassador for the Environment, Mr Jamie Isbister, to speak at a Canberra seminar on 6 February 2020 to better inform the way forward on climate change policy. The Ambassador led the Australian delegation in Madrid at UNCOP 25. He will again lead an Australian diplomatic delegation in Glasgow at UNCOP 26.

Despite the work that has been done already by local and state governments, as well as by the business sector, it is clear that there is still much to be undertaken. Bishop Philip suggests that there is now a need for  " a national conversation... which leads to our best possible contribution at the UNCOP 26..."
