Thursdays in Black Ambassadors fellowship  

In two meetings on 27-28 October, the ambassadors shared their work and witness, welcoming two new ambassadors—Colleen Geyer and Sharon Hollis from the Uniting Church in Australia.

Thursdays in Black ambassadors are adding to their group as the World Council of Churches fellowship increases its momentum with initiatives and advocacy for a world free from rape and violence.

The WCC fellowship met in preparation to observe 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, from the (25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and runs until 10 December, Human Rights Day) to discuss ideas and share creative insights to mark these 16 day of activism.

16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence

The 16 Days of Activism begins on November 25, the International Day for Elimination of Violence Against Women and ends on December 10th, Human Rights Day.

Churches Beyond Borders – comprising the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada, Anglican Church in Canada, Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, and The Episcopal Church  - have prepared daily devotions for the 16 Days around “Mary’s Song”, Luke 1:46-55.
