NAIDOC Week

The Outward Temple of Australia

~ Heal Country ~

NAIDOC Week, July 7-14, 2021

Every morning, new dew drops settle on the filament of leaves, that make our bushlands luminous

Birds quiver and surge their songs. They nurture us by their sonic plume, casually cleanse & restore us with silken tunes.

Waves rise and fall on beaches. We learn reciprocal calling and the fullness of what releases.

‘Shhhh’…the whispers from our oceans are clear, spraying news about gospel genius everywhere…

Mountain places glisten with the birth of each new season. Kangaroos yawn, sweet bursting butterflies adorn. They prance their daily reverie across musky soil.

In Australia, we know Country heals us.

NAIDOC week this year invites us to Heal Country, too.

It’s just reciprocation. It comes naturally.

We Heal Country first by respecting Country.

We Heal Country more deeply by learning how to:

  • Attend then
  • Reflect then
  • Respond

…just as all spiritual devotees have done throughout all time. But now, in our Outward Temple, with all of Life we are invited to, too.

This NAIDOC week, can you partner in this role of environmental healing?

The languages of our Continent appeal to us.

And the wellsprings of rejuvenation are waiting…

Have you marked NAIDOC (National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee) Week this year?

NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

2021 Theme

Heal Country, heal our nation.

Heal Country! – calls for stronger measures to recognise, protect, and maintain all aspects of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and heritage.

NAIDOC Week is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities, but by Australians from all walks of life. The week is a great opportunity to participate in a range of activities and to support your local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. We are invited to walk with the First Nation people in a movement of the Australian people for a better future.

Visit the NAIDOC website  to found out more.

There are events being held across the nation to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
