Nuclear Weapon Ban school

ICAN Australia invites you to learn more about the nuclear weapon ban treaty and how to be a part of the push to get Australia on board.

It's an important year for the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons. Despite the resistance of the nuclear-armed states and their allies, despite the ever-expanding nuclear budgets, the Treaty is in force and changing how we think about the bomb. Next January, states parties will convene their first meeting.

ICAN Australia recently surveyed their supporters and learned that many want to know about the nuclear weapon ban treaty and how to be part of the push to get Australia on board.

Ban School:

The school is made up of 5 free online participatory classes every 3 weeks beginning on the 28th of June.

You can join for a class or two, or enrol in the whole curriculum!

What happens at Ban School?

We'll take a deep dive into the treaty, we'll hear first-hand stories from the long history of nuclear resistance in Australia and the Pacific, we'll unpack deterrence theory and strategise a pathway forward. We'll also enjoy a special star-studded webinar from two of our favourite activist/authors Scott Ludlam and Ray Acheson.

Enrol in the full program or pick and choose your classes.

The program:

Monday 28 June at 5-6:30pm AEST / 7-8:30pm Pacific

  Monday 19 July at 5-6:30pm AEST / 7-8:30pm Pacific
