Daily reflections for Season of Creation

The season takes us from 1 September through to the feast of St. Francis on 4 October. Christians of all denominations and locations are invited to participate in an ecumenical Season of Creation.

The NCCA is celebrating the Season of Creation this year with daily posts on our Facebook page. These will include bible verses, Christian and interfaith prayers, and quotes related to creation. These will be published each morning and we invite you to use them for your daily reflection or meditation.

This year’s Season of Creation has the theme of “walking together”. Although this theme does not need to be incorporated into your celebration, using it is an easy way to unite with celebrations around the world.

“Everything is related, and we human beings are united as brothers and sisters on a wonderful pilgrimage, woven together by the love God has for each of his creatures and which also unites us in fond affection with brother sun, sister moon, brother river and mother earth” (Laudato Si’, 9).

Joint message - Invitation to join in the Season of Creation

On 13 June 2018 a joint message was released that gives new impetus to the ecumenical season of prayer and action to protect the environment.
