The Intensive

JOURNEY OF PROMISE INTENSIVE EXPERIENCE

 January 29 - February 4 2004

JOP group on the last morning of the intensive

The central part of the inter-faith Journey of Promise was the shared time together between 29 January and 4 February 2004, when a group of 30 young Christians, Muslims and Jews lived together residentially at Elanora Heights (Uniting Church of Australia) Conference Centre, exploring in greater depth the diverse life and faith of communities in Sydney.

The programme was worked out by the interfaith JOP steering group, and included:

* encounters with a variety of places of secular and religious significance - not least those of Indigenous significance

* opportunities for individual and group reflection, input and/or facilitation by national, community and faith leaders

* workshops exploring shared responses to particular issues of importance in contemporary Australian society
