Key Issues: Cultivating Peace in the Family

'Love is patient, love is kind.  It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.'
(1 Corinthians 13.4-5)

In 2002 the NCCA and a number of member churches joined in an Interfaith Declaration against domestic violence as part of a government partnership seeking to prevent violence in family and personal relationships.
This work continues to be a priority in our shared commitment to the Decade to Overcome Violence.

Current Australian commitments include:

* NCCA Gender Commission Australian Church Consultation on sexual abuse/harassment

* support of, and resources for, 'On the Wings of a Dove' and other such campaigns

* campaigning against Abuse against Women
by the Australian Evangelical Alliance's Commission on Women's Concerns

DOV patrons Paula Masselos and Lowitja O'Donaghue are also leading Australians who have made important public contributions to this area of work.
