As we celebrate Pentecost (Eastern and Oriental Churches on 27 May), the WCC Pentecost Greeting 2018 asks us to recall the living testimonies of those who give their lives promoting reconciliation and peace with justice in their many countries worldwide.

On 17 May 2018, the NCCA wrote to the Palestinian Ambassador, HE Izzat Salah Abdulhadi on hearing the news of the deaths that occurred on Monday 14 May 2018.  

We passed on our concern and shared a prayer, taken from the Prayer for Peace with Justice in Israel/Palestine.

On Tuesday15 and Wednesday 16 May 2018, a group of 26 Sudanese and South Sudanese church leaders from across Australia came together in a National Consultation at the Australian Centre for Christianity and Culture, Canberra, under the auspices of the NCCA.

The two day consultation culminated in the finalisation of a key statement which, assisted by DFAT, was delivered to the South Sudan peace talks in Addis Ababa the following day, Thursday 17 May.

With the title “Old Problems in the New World,” this forum  was co-sponsored by the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Buenos Aires and South America, and the Patriarch Athenagoras Orthodox Institute based in Berkeley, California, USA.
