NCCA Welcomes Rev. Professor Andrew Dutney, President of Uniting Church

The National Council of Churches in Australia (NCCA) and the ecumenical family welcomed the Reverend Professor Andrew Dutney as he was  installed as the President of the Uniting Church in Australia on 15 July 2012 in Adelaide. Approximately 3000 people attended the service at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre. Amongst those welcoming Dr Dutney were leaders from the Anglican Church, Antiochian Orthodox Church, Catholic Church, Coptic Orthodox Chuurch, Lutheran Church, and the Salvation Army.

Dr Dutney has taken up the position at the conclusion of the Rev Alistair Macrae's term as President. He will hold the position until the next meeting of the Uniting Church Assembly in 2015. The NCCA looks forward to Dr Dutney's contribution to Australian church and community life as well as to the fellowship of the Council.
