Australian Church Refugee Network Coordinator

Position Vacant - ROUND 2

Applications are invited for an exciting New Position

•  Exciting new Network made up of refugee experts and churches heavily involved in refugee work
•  Work with an experienced secretariat at Act for Peace, an agency of the National Council of Churches in Australia
•  Full-time, permanent position
•  Location: Sydney or Melbourne CBD


This exciting new position requires a dynamic and self-motivated team player with well-honed research, policy development and advocacy skills with relevant expertise in asylum policy and practice in Australia and the ability to support the development of a strong Church-based Refugee Network.

This is a unique opportunity to work with leading refugee advocates and play a critical role in strengthening the voice and influence of Australian churches and their agencies in public debate and government policy.  

The secretariat for the new Australian Church Refugee Network is within Act for Peace, the international aid and refugee agency of the National Council of Churches in Australia. We work according to the mandate set by our 19 member Churches and seek to assist the most conflict-affected communities to be safe. We have been assisting refugees around the world and in Australia for over 60 years.
