Act for Peace’s partner in Chile, Church World Service (CWS), is undertaking emergency response and recovery work following the 8.8 magnitude earthquake that hit central Chile early Saturday, killing over 700 people, and triggering tsunami warnings across the Pacific, including Australia. The death toll is set to rise and curfews have been imposed as looting flares.
