Act for Peace Responds to Asia-Pacific Emergencies

The Australian community is shocked at seeing three parts of the region we live in devastated by natural disasters in the Philippines, the Samoan islands and Tonga, and Sumatra. (read more)  Act for Peace, the international aid agency of the National Council of Churches in Australia is working with local church partners to provide emergency assistance such as shelter, clean drinking water, medicines and food and then assist with longer-term assistance such as helping to restore livelihoods, homes, schools and health clinics.  Australians are invited to respond with their prayers and also support through the Christmas Bowl and emergency appeals. (Click here)
