Commitment of Love and Service

Praise and Thanksgiving

(Meditative music is played before singing ”Blessed be your name”)

Blessed be your name in the land that is plentiful.
Where your streams of abundance flow blessed be your name.
And blessed be your name when I’m found in the desert place
Though I walk through the wilderness blessed be your name
Every blessing you pour out I’ll turn back to praise
And when the darkness closes in, Lord still I will say
Blessed be your name of the Lord blessed be your name
Blessed be your name of the Lord blessed be your glorious name [Repeat]

(Moments of silent individual prayers. After praying everyone hold hands with their neighbours then read the collective prayer.)

All: Oh Holy God. Thank you for your everlasting love upon us. You are our God, our shelter and the strength of our lives. You gave us youthfulness and power to lead real changes in our daily lives. May you be with us all the time and protect our steps towards our vision. Please send us your Spirit and lead us to your goodness. Amen.

Prayer of Confession

We come to you our Lord, though we are not worthy of your love for we are sinners. We confess to you the times we have wasted, the effects and hard work of our parents to provide for our education. Forgive O Lord, the policymakers for they disregard the value of our cultural identity and the burden they impose on the less privilege young people who experience severe difficulties in accessing education. All of these for the sake of money, business and unfair trade. This we pray, Amen.

Scripture Reading

Psalms 110:3

Reflection Song and Dance

(the Song and Dance is inspired by the following poem)

Like the dew in the dawn
Youth of the God Almighty
Shout to the Lord “I will follow Jesus”
Reach out your hands on us. Give us your love and strength
Let us stand and be firm. Show your grace.

Prayers of the Faithful

Leader: God, our Savior may give us power, patience and boldness to stand what we believe in the youth’s rights.

All:
Show your mercy Lord.

Leader:
May all youth in Asia Pacific region will be able to access education and experience a fair system.

All:
Show your mercy Lord.

Leader:
Let us come together and lead real changes in our education systems from north to south and east to west in this region.

All:
Show your mercy Lord.

Leader:
May we respect each other’s cultural identity, from poor to rich, from children to adults, from the weak to strong. May we have love to accept the people regardless of their language, race, culture, religion, gender and social status. Amen.

Dedication The commitment of love and service

(Each participant is requested to offer a flower until the shape of heart is formed.)

Leader: Each chance of forgiveness is a mercy from heaven.

All: We take this opportunity to help correct our wrong doings as people.

Leader:
The knowledge and wisdom through education and life’s experiences is a gift of God.

All:
We pledge ourselves to respect and value this right.

Leader:
Having each other’s smiles and tears is a blessing of your love.

All:
We commit to embrace each other
as you have cradled us in your love.
May we bloom like flowers
Whose scent and beauty
Inspire human souls
That at dawn of your grace
Our youthful life
Will be spent to love and serve. Amen
