Stand Up Against Poverty 2008

Join millions worldwide as they Stand Up and Take Action against Poverty and for the Millennium Development Goals.

Last year, over 43 million people stood up to demand that world leaders keep their promises to end poverty and inequality . This year, help to break that record and send an even louder message to our governments.

Join the global movement of people who refuse to stay seated or silent in the face of poverty and broken promises to end it!

Why Stand Up?

This Friday marks the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty. You can show your support by joining millions around the world participating in Stand Up and Take Action Against Poverty events over the coming weekend!

Why Do We Do It?

Participating in STAND UP shows that you care about global poverty and call on our government to take action to fight it. The more people who participate in STAND UP the greater impact we can have with politicians and decision makers in Canberra. Last year 107,000 Australians stood with 43.7 million people worldwide. It even got into the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest single coordinated movement of people in history.

We’re going for a world record again this year and we need your help! So go to the Make Poverty History site TODAY and check out the info you need tog et started!
