act for peace is the international aid agency of the National Council of Churches in Australia (NCCA).
act for peace works in partnership for real and lasting peace to reduce extreme poverty, protect refugees and people-at-risk, prevent and resolve conflicts, and empower communities worldwide.
As followers of the One whom every Christmas we celebrate as the "Prince of Peace", Christians must advocate peace, especially by seeking to overcome the causes of war.
There are 300 million people worldwide living on less than $1 a day in conflict-affected regions. act for peace works in these areas to break the cycle of extreme poverty and conflict.
Living on less that $1 a day is the United Nations' definition of extreme poverty. By giving from as little as $1 a day ($30 a month), you can act for peace and help to:

act for peace works:
- through long-term, ecumenical partnership – including working with all relevant stakeholders and faiths
- on development, humanitarian, advocacy and community education programs (within our IPP system)
- at the community, national, continental (Pacific, Asia, Africa and Middle East) and global levels
- in conflict-affected and fragile areas as well as Australia
As this work is year-round, we encourage year-round support (as act for peace Regular Givers), with a special focus on Christmas (through the Christmas Bowl).

In the last year, act for peace was able to provide $4,474,044 to our programs:This amounts to $4,032,051 for overseas programs and $441,993 for Indigenous and refugee programs in Australia.
We are also a part of the global ACT International alliance (Action by Churches Together). act for peace will work with other ACT International members to ensure all development programs are of high quality.
ACT is an expression of the act for peace mission at a global level. At the local level, the Christmas Bowl and Partners4Peace appeal programs are an expression of our Mission.
